MarkBook® section 8-4
Class Category Summary and Analysis Screen

Reach this screen from MarkBook's Class Report Screen, section 8-1, by clicking on the Categories tab in the upper part of the screen.

On this sample screen is a Categories display for a fictitious Mathematics class.

7X Class Report by Category

Each category is displayed in a column on the left half of the screen (Algebra, DataMang, Geometry, etc. in this screen sample). Each student's Overall achievement to date is listed within the column of that name. Category names are restricted to 8 characters as set up in section 2-1.

The Round Off cell at the bottom is checked in this example. Consequently, all summary data is displayed to the nearest integer. If the cell was not checked, data would display to the nearest single decimal place. If the Level cell just below the names is checked, the data will display as levels. See setup section 7-1 for details on levels and letter grades.

A class summary appears in the CATEGORY SUMMARIES box at the upper right showing the names of all categories used, the number of assessment entries within each category, the class's achievement to date within each, and the contribution percentage towards the overall mark in Mathematics (MAT2). Use the vertical scroll bar at the right of this box to see other categories if necessary.

If you highlight any student within a category column, their achievement on each item within that category is displayed in the lower right box. Code Name Baadshah's data is on display at the moment.

The Use: menu at the lower left permits display by Real Name, Code Name or by student number.

By clicking on the Term pop-down menu at the upper left, you can select any given term to see how each student performed on each category within that unit. If you have changed "Term" to some other word such as "Unit" or "Semester", that word will appear in place of "Term". In this case you can analyze by that new classification term. See the paragraph on Block Title in section 2-2 for details on changing this term.

Click on the Weight button at the lower right to adjust weighting as in section 7-6. Click on Notes to record anecdotal notes as in section 3-3. Click the Back button to return to your previous screen.

Manual: go to section 8-5 to see a distribution analysis of class performance.
