Class Report Entries Grid / Spreadsheet Screen

Click the Entries tab near the upper left. MarkBook uses this screen to examine all assessment entries in a grid or spreadsheet format. View all marks "as entered", as a letter grade/level, or as a percentage. Double click any cell to edit the mark in that cell.

MarkBook's Mark Grid Screen

Get to this screen from the main operating screen section 3-1, by clicking on the Class Report button and then clicking on the Entries tab near the upper left. Move the two scroll bars vertically for students, or horizontally to view all of their marks, grades, or scores. In this example, the teacher has selected assessment #30, "Wanted Poster", by clicking on that column. The blue box to the lower right gives summary details about the selected assessment.

View a subset of the marks/grades by clicking on the toggles in the Unit: and Category: menus. Alter the display within the grid to percentages or levels by selecting any of the Format: cells at the bottom. The Round Off box causes MarkBook to display numbers to the nearest integer. If not selected, data will display to one decimal place. These are display options only. In all cases, MarkBook data is calculated and stored to six decimal places!

Assessments with a mark of zero show up as Zero! on this screen. Assessments for which no mark was entered show up as horizontal dotted lines -----. The word NoMark appears on some screens where there is sufficient room.

Use to edit assessment data since it shows a grid that's several entries wide just like the recording form in section 5-2 and the seating plan grid in section 5-5. Double click on any cell in order to change it. The update screen, section 7-5, will pop up to receive the change. When you click on Save in the update screen, it will return you to this screen with the cell, the student's overall grade, and the class calculations all updated.

Change the students' names to their Code Name or Student Number by selecting one of those options from the Use: pop-down menu in the lower left corner.

Double click on the words Calc. Method at the top center of this screen to get the Change Calculation Method dialogue box shown. Pop-down the menu and click on another choice. Click Apply. All calculated numbers will flip to the new method. Note the message about bumping, as described in section 7-1.

Switch to several other styles of class report using the tabs at the top: click on Summary to go to the Summary Class Report section 8-1, click on Categories to go to the Category Screen, section 8-4, click on Distribution to go to a Distribution Summary screen, section 8-5, click on Modal Analysis to go to the display described in section 8-9, or click on Seating to see a mark summary on your seating grid.

Go to the Weight Screen, section 7-6, by clicking Weight, or to the Anecdotal Notes screen, section 3-3, by clicking on Notes.

Manual: Go to section 8-4 to see a category analysis for a class.
