Assessment Analysis Printout

This sample looks at assessment #23 titled WORK/ENERGY TEST for class "7X". Statistical and reference data is given in the top box including the assessment date, category, unit, weight, the class average out of the base mark of 82, the class average as a percentage, and the class median percentage.

Each student's performance is shown. Rank, raw score on the assessment, percentage, and a suggested Level or letter grade are provided.

Since this assessment was divided into sections, an analysis of individual performance by section is possible. You can do this on the computer screen as in section 7-7 or on this printout. Note that performances well below the class average are printed.

The DISTRIBUTION is shown in a narrow box under the student data. It counts the number of student overall grades in eight grade ranges.

Finally, the lowest box is a SECTION ANALYSIS showing how the various parts/sections of the assessment contributed to the overall grade and how the class as a whole performed on each of those parts. This will give you an idea as to the relative difficulty of each part.

Remediation candidates become apparent in this analysis. Frequently, there are some students, including a few with excellent overall test marks, who need remediation on one or more of the items taught. This printout enables you to quickly identify which students are weak in each section of the test. Had this test been recorded as a single entry with no sections, this identification would not be possible!

Manual: go to section 7-9 for a discussion of "Drop-The-Low" and appropriate applications for its use.
