Attendance Form Sample Printouts

MarkBook prints monthly attendance forms on standard paper. Multiple pages will print for very large classes. The distortion is from scanning and shrinking - your printouts will be as sharp as your printer permits!
MarkBook's Monthly Attendance Form

Print this blank form for any month from either of MarkBook's attendance screens, section 6-2 or section 6-3, and you need only to specify which month prior to printing.

The month and year are identified in the upper left. MarkBook's calendar fills in the days automatically. This printout does NOT show the optional bar code to the right of each student's attendance row.

If you have used the attendance features to electronically record your attendance data, MarkBook will print this same form with your attendance data merged into the appropriate cells. This includes As, Ls, Ms, Ps, and any other letter/number codes that you have defined.

BAR CODING OPTION for attendance forms

MarkBook's Barcoded Attendance Form

This sample includes the bar code option. The bar codes shown are the student numbers placed at the right side of this attendance recording page, where they can be scanned into a computer with an inexpensive scanner. For instance, the first student, Tony, with student number 741, has the barcode3of9 equivalent to 741 printed at the right of his row. This saves substantial data entry input time in the school's office. The course code is also bar-coded at the upper left and three other keyboard instructions are bar-coded as well - A, L, and Enter. See the attendance setup, section 6-1 for details on how to print this form from MarkBook.

To use this form: each day, the teacher puts an attendance code such as "A" for Absent, "L" for Late, or "T" for Tardy into the cells in the appropriate date column and submits this form to the office. Other letters can be used as well - see section 6-1. Using an inexpensive CCD "wedge" scanner, the attendance secretary quickly scan the bar codes to select the class and input the day's attendance data. This is much faster than typing in all of these numbers. And there are no typos.

To print these bar coded attendance forms, install the bar code font from your MarkBook directory into your Windows Font Folder as per section 6-1. If this has not been done, use the "Add Font" features of Windows to do this. Under MarkBook's Setup, select Bar Coded Attendance. Specify the font and special characters. Then, when you request a printout from the attendance screen, click the bar code option before clicking Print.

For a discussion of the uses of bar codes for attendance data entry, see section 6-6.
