MarkBook® section 8-7
Class Report Form - "Code Name" Version
MarkBook produces
four types of Class Reports. This one is a summary for posting inside
the classroom. Note that all students are listed in code name alphabetical order
down the left
side.
This
anonymous name was given to the teacher early in the term, and recorded in MarkBook using the Edit Names screen, section 4-2. If a student does not supply a code name, MarkBook will
automatically assign an alpha-numeric code name.
The teacher has
chosen to print the last ten of sixty-seven assessments on this report. The full set can be printed but
requires numerous pages. MarkBook's Print Screen, section 8-6, warns you about the number of pages required to print any
reports. Note the class average and median are given at the top of the report.
Missing entries
(NoMark) print as a dotted horizontal line.

Tip:
Use the following to distinguish between an "earned zero" (student was present for the
assessment and got zero) versus an "absence zero" (student was absent but you still expect them to complete the item and hand it in). MarkBook counts the number of "Zero!s" for each student and reports these as "Incomplete Items" on numerous reports. Since the "earned zero" is NOT incomplete, enter a mark of 0.1 for that student. Now, the
assessment has a very low mark, but will not show up on an "Incomplete
Items" list.
We suggest that
all students be encouraged to keep an independent record of their
assessments. When a Code Name Report is posted, they can check their records against
the printout and discrepancies can be dealt with. This process is important - students respond better when
Many teachers post a Class Report once
a week and post it on top of last week's report. A few days after posting a Code Name report like this one, and marking tardy items that students suddenly "remember" to complete, update
the assessments in MarkBook and then print/distribute Student Reports, section 9-6, to send home to parents.

Class Report printout.
