I have been using (MarkBook) for 4 years since reading about it in a teacher's journal. It is a fantastic tool that allows me to keep an electronic (grade book) on each of my classes... students and parents love (MarkBook) - they get wildly excited over their position in the class and parents appreciate the professional quality of the reports it generates. I have used spreadsheets since 1989. The printouts were not very easy to read and it used to take hours to crunch the numbers - I had to design my own columns and rows and fonts and the possibility of formula errors meant checking and rechecking constantly.

This semester however I discovered MarkBook... and it was amazing. At first I kept updating my spreadsheets because I couldn't believe that MarkBook was as simple and reliable as it appeared. It is the perfect program for this English teacher. Teaching a new curriculum with new expectations means my marks must reflect the new categories, strands, and learning skills for the new report cards. Such reporting takes 2 minutes using MarkBook.

I am thrilled that MarkBook... provides median marks as well as average marks - the kids are highly motivated by the statistics I can give them about class achievement and they love their own printouts which I provide twice a semester. MarkBook is also a wonderful way to inform the administration, special education teachers, and the parents of student progress and problems.

I saved hours of time and thousands of key strokes by using MarkBook this semester. Thank you for developing this software for teachers!!!! USA

I am a classroom history teacher who has bought Markbook for his personal use. This is the third or fourth school year I've been using your program and I really like it... especially when I get into those parent-teacher meetings, where the other teachers show their rinky-dink printout from their simplier programs, and I've got the big, bold, Markbook printout. I'm using MarkBook's html reports combined with the free services of www.yourhomework.com to post students marks. My kids love it! They can check their marks any time. At first they were a little sceptical, but when I asked if anyone didn't want to be included in the report, not one student said they didn't! The ease of creating those reports is another big plus for MarkBook.

Just a quick note of appreciation from myself and the middle school staff (for) MarkBook (software). (Our) middle school (grades 5 - 8) report cards have anecdotal remarks for each student for each subject, 9 subjects in total, reporting on 3 strands in English and 5 stands in math. In the past, teachers have gone bonkers at reporting times due to all of these comments and marks...

(Now)... when it comes to... creating classes, recording marks in different categories, attaching names to multi-subject class teachers and using the array of comment banks on the MarkBook website, I am known as Superman. The teachers are amazed at the power of (MarkBook...).

I love this program because it saves time and prevents arguments. Yes! Arguments are a big part of school systems. Parents and students argue with teachers about the grades. This programs is hard to argue with. It just like having Sergeant Friday of Dragnet at every meeting. He is instantly saying "just the facts ma'am"... as a result, educators no longer spend more time defending how they gave that grade. USA

This is a powerful tool for the informed teacher... The Rubrics are clear for all assignments and your (grade book) is the paradigm that can be used to teach and help parents see what their child is doing or not doing. I rely heavily on MarkBook to keep things running and dread the mayhem that could have resulted if I was without. I work in a rural, selective, Grammar School. I was sent to my current school about 18 months ago to try to restore it after a period of degradation over a number of years. The children are bright but they were disillusioned and I knew that the novelty of a "new face" would not be enough. MarkBook has played a key part in my strategy to improve student standards and examination grades.
